How To Start TIG Welding and Building Chopper Motorcycles

I talked to the good folks over at Eastwood and placed my order for the Eastwood TIG200 AC/DC welder, the Eastwood Tungsten Grinder because I knew that if fouling the tungsten is a problem for beginners I would be needing either this or a grinding wheel, but with it’s rod mitering slots and double sided diamond grinding wheel, the grinder would take having pointy tungsten out of the learning process. I also ordered the Eastwood Panoramic Welding Helmet. Probably too much helmet for what I need but not very expensive, so I went for it.

Decorate your lid! Custom Painted Motorcycle Helmet

Recently the trend for fully customized motorcycle helmets has picked up again and we’ve even begun to see custom helmet “shows” where artists, owners, and painters can show off their helmet. We decided to brew up our own custom helmet using a vintage helmet and show the process along the way. Mike L. is our resident paint tech guy and he did the work to transform this helmet.

Antique Motorcycle Club National Show and Swap Meet- Pennsylvania 2014

For us there are always a few events that really mark the beginning of show and swap meet season here in Eastwood-country. One of them is the Spring Carlisle swap meet where you could find most anything you need for your classic car project, but where do you go to find classic motorcycle parts you ask? Well the motorcycle counterpart (ironically the same weekend as Carlisle) is the Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA) national show and swap meet in the sleepy town of Oley, PA.

Hobby Month Customer Spotlight- Marc M. Bike Klub After-School Instructor

This entire month we’ve been talking about customers that are crazy for their hobby and some of their beautiful creations. For our final feature we’re going to spotlight a guy that took his hobby even further than most and married it with his profession. Marc has been building Motorcycles and Hot Rods since he was a kid alongside his father. During that time he’s learned the ins and outs of building his own projects from scratch. Not everyone can fall into doing their hobby as a profession and Marc was no different. He’s spent the past 17 years in the education industry and specifically the past 10 teaching Canadian youth in public schools. During his time as a school teacher he’s taught everything from Math to Metallurgy. You can see where were going with this right?!
