Prototype to Product – Eastwood’s Contour SCT Surface Conditioning Tool

There are so many ways to strip paint – chemicals, blasting, sanding. Depending on what you’re stripping, any one of them might be the best solution. But when it comes stripping layers of paint off of large body panels, Eastwood’s R&D manager Mark just wasn’t satisfied with traditional rotary sanding discs. So he got to work creating a better solution.

In this episode, he gives the backstory on the patented Contour SCT surface conditioning tool, a drum-style rust and paint stripper that has become one of Eastwood’s most popular new tools since its introduction. Mark not only explains the thinking behind its design, but also why he changed a critical feature of its construction.
