Project Sunny – Episode 7: Rear Floor Structure Complete

Project Sunny returns with a new episode after a bit of a break for other projects. In this new episode, Bryan explains why he has reworked the floor panel support rails he’d previously made. The new pieces are a major improvement, as you’ll see.

He also tackled the problem of the replacement floor panel not being quite the right length. Because the aftermarket only produces a panel for the Land Rover Discovery, not the Range Rover, he had to get creative to difference in length. Watch as he uses a second floor panel and modifies the first one to make the more than five-inch gap.

Finally, Bryan cleans up the remaining original sheet metal and welds the new rear floor support in place, tying the rear body structure together once again. He also refinishes the center floor supports and creates a new weather seal flange, getting them all ready for installation.
