Is Powder Coating Flexible?

A problem when painting parts that may flex is the possibility of the paint cracking over time. In the auto body industry flex agents have been added to paints and clear coats to help them flex with a part and reduce cracking. Powder coating is a much more durable coating than liquid paints. In fact it has two-three times the impact resistance and is preferred for parts that are exposed to extreme conditions.

Can I reuse Powder Coating Powder?

Reclaiming powder is a discussion that is argued quite often in the powder coating hobby. In industry you will see items being coated at scale. There will be conveyor belts running large batches of parts that are sprayed with powder and then run through an oven. This is the quickest way to coat and bake parts but there tends to be a lot of powder wasted that is sprayed and doesn’t stick to the items.
