October 28, 2010 – Pottstown, PA – Tom Shinn has been tinkering with cars since he was 13 years old. He said that he was totally amazed to find out that he was the winner of Eastwood’s Dream Ride Tour Contest and that he would be leaving for Las Vegas next week to attend the SEMA Show and then have a day of driving exotic cars.
“At 54, I’m as excited as a kid to be going to the SEMA show and spending a day driving five dream cars, including Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorana, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, Aston Martin V8 Vantage or Corvette Z06,” Mr. Shinn said.
When Shinn decided to enter the contest he thought to himself, “Why not. These cars and the SEMA show would be an event that any car guy would love. This is a once in a lifetime thrill.” In fact, he mentioned, that this is the best thing that has happened to him since he got married.
As an Eastwood customer, he’s been restoring cars since the early 70’s, everything from Muscle cars, trucks, 4×4’s and motorcycles. “There is not a car that exists that I’m not interested in,” Shinn noted. He’s used the Eastwood Powder Coating kit and says, “the system is great.”
Shinn’s enthusiasm with cars and motorcycles began young as he tinkered with bicycles – changing, modifying and customizing before becoming a teenager. “Growing up on a farm and restoring and repairing things were just a part of life,” Shinn noted.
Eastwood’s Anniversary Dream Ride Tour contest randomly chose one grand prize winner, Tom Shinn. He will be flown from New Jersey to Las Vegas where he and his wife will enjoy an unforgettable four-day, three night stay filled with once in a lifetime opportunities.
